Mwela Mbambala Mask
IKENGAinc.com
Even though there is a core Yaka style with upturned noses, some regional styles show the stylistic influence of their neighbor such as the Kongo, the Holo, the Teke, the Mbala the Hungan, and the Suku ( for example the female Kazeba mask) . Nevertheless the Yaka-style is unmistakable, and purely their one .Their art is generally expressionistic, and polychrome. They use materials such as bark, wood, fabric, and fiber such as raffia.
