Metaphors of Fertility
Resting on a richly decorated circular base are ten seated women. Six are cradling infants, and four are without a baby, a metaphor which indicates the enormous prosperity and fertility the king creates for the entire community.
Standing on the shoulders of these nurses, and holding up the heavily ornamented platform of the seat, are ten children of the king. Six beautifully dressed young women and four equally well adorned young men.
