Olumaye offering bowl

These receptacles are used as altar offering bowls, to hold the 16 sacred palm nuts which are used in IFA divination, or Kola nuts which are offered to visitors.
The kneeling woman is identified as a massager to the gods. Her posture of respect is common in religious, political and familial context.
