Egungun Myth of Origine

When a king aflicted with a hunchback died, his three sons, due to the lack of money, abondoned his body.
Years later the eldest son succeded his father as king. He married Iya Mose, a daughter of a neighboring king.
After many years passed without the birth of children, IyaMose and the king consulted a diviner, to find out the cause of her bareness.
The king was informed that his failure to perform the proper funeral rites for his father caused his inability to father children. Consequently Iya Mose was informed that she would give birth to a son.
